"Follow Your Heart" June 2009
I had been to our local library to see what types of books they had on art and painting. I picked up a book…a really, really big heavy book entitled, "The History of Art" by H.W. Janson and a few books on painting techniques. Notably, one book by the artist Joye Moon called, "Exploring Textures in Watercolor" which aroused my interest in the watercolor medium.
Along with the acrylic paints I inherited from my old roommate, Lan, there was also a set of Pelikan Watercolor paints. I had the paints, I had the inspiration…it was just a matter of diving in. "Follow Your Heart" was my first attempt at mucking about with the watercolor paints, trying to get a feel for the medium.
