"The Distortion of Barley" Feb. 2009

This painting started out as a photo session of my niece Chanelle’s new Jack Russell Terrier puppy by the name of Barley. I took a few props with me to her house for the photo shoot, including the 1920’s vintage hat that was the subject matter of "Discarded Beauty". When Barley had gotten a little sleepy, I gently placed him inside the vintage hat and got some terrific shots. "The Distortion of Barley" is the end result of me mucking about with one of those pictures with the use of Adobe Photoshop.
